This Is The Scrunchyface of My Dreams – Video & Lyrics

I don’t often make a specific point of posting video clips, particularly for albums or songs I recently dedicated an entire post to, but yesterday I looked for a clip by Blue Water White Death that I could forward to some friends to check out.

I picked This Is The Scrunchyface of My Dreams and sent it along, then today I decided to actually watch it, and what an eerily compelling 2½ minutes that turned out to be!

According to the info on YouTube, the video was made by Juan Manuel Sentamans, who – as it turns out – has a channel on YouTube and a recently created profile on Vimeo along with several other videos that certainly look like they’ll make intriguing viewing when I take the time.

Aside from being a little creepy, mesmerising and strangely beautiful all at once, I was a little stunned by how closely it matched my own somewhat visual interpretations, albeit in an utterly uncertain way – if that even makes sense. While the primary focus is on the character, the room itself is a rather formidable presence, with very subtle references to what might lie beyond it.

Anyway, I wanted to post it up here primarily because it’s a fascinating piece of work and deserves a little attention. I thought it would also be pertinent to include the lyrics in full.

Are you mad are you mad
run away run away
little boy little boy
little townie run away
rosy lip in the dark, rosy cheek in the dark
there’s a darkness in you that I want to unfurl
little girl, little girl, little girl, little girl

Ice forms on the edge of the screen
battered birds pour from the windows
and the body the body the body released
swelling bursting
suppurating
fin and wing
thumb and finger
LOVE GROWS IN ME
